The .club domain, the first of the new generic TLDs, has achieved the score of 100 thousand registrations. The total number of addresses in the new extension is now 2.1 million. The .XYZ extension comes first with the score of over 477 thousand domain registrations, followed by .berlin with the score of nearly 140 thousand domain names.
The domain .club has been promoted in a more transparent and at the same time effective way, given the number of paid registrations. As the first among new gTLDs, the domain benefited from the support of a celebrity – the promotion involved a well-known rapper 50 Cent. In addition, the domain has been visible for a few weeks on the home page of the largest registrar in the world. As you can see, honest marketing brings good results, although it is difficult to downplay the value of the extension itself.
In a very short time following its release to the public, .club has become a leader among new gTLDs with paid registrations. For now, it has been too early to talk about big profits, but considering the renewals of .club domains next year, you can count on a substantial return on so pompously carried out a campaign of new domains under .club.
